Process Service PA, LLC is dedicated to promoting gender equality and representation in the legal field. We applaud the accomplishments of our local, female attorneys and business professionals during this Women’s History Month in March. We acknowledge the triumphant strides taken by the expanding number of women practicing law. Recall an article from 1855, the Legal Intelligencer published a popular criticism of female attorneys. It wrote, “No lady lawyer is ever to kiss the Judge for an arrest of judgment; No cradles allowed in Court; and the penalty for infraction of the rules is . . . obliging her to attend to her household duties.” We can now proudly report that as of 2022, 40% of all U.S. attorneys were women, and that number grows every year.
If you want to continue supporting female attorneys in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Bar Association has a Women in the Profession Committee, which “concerns itself with issues related to the careers and advancement of women in the practice of law in the Philadelphia area. It monitors existing conditions and trends, conducts special programs and makes recommendations that aid in the achievement of its goals, including but not limited to, the adoption of model employee policies and any amendments thereto.” We highly recommend staying updated with their events, annual awards, and achievements through their blog.
A similar committee also exists for the Pennsylvania Bar Association, known as the Women in the Profession Commission. They are currently honoring Juniata Kidd Stout, the first African-American and second woman as an associate justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1988. She was the first African American woman to serve on any state appellate court in the country. We join the Commission in honoring Stout’s legacy and empowering female icons in law.
We also want to congratulate the women who made the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Top 50 for 2021. We thank these inspiring professionals for their impact on aspiring women attorneys and wish them nothing but continuous success.
Join us in spreading empowerment and celebration this March for Women’s History Month. Ruth Bader Ginsburg said it best, “women belong in all places where decisions are being made.”
As always we are always here to help!
Another resource I wanted to introduce you to is Cerissa Bryson at Cerbry Consulting LLC
A legal nurse consultant (LNC) is a registered nurse with expertise in healthcare, which can be applied to the complexities of medical-legal cases. This experienced nurse assists attorneys in the litigation process by acting as a bridge between law and medicine.
Legal nurse consultants can help attorneys by spotting, analyzing, and summarizing the medical record information that directly affects the lawsuit. Another important aspect of the work of an LNC is finding missing medical records and making recommendations to request policies, protocols, and other documents to strengthen the case. An LNC can help you with any litigation aspect in which medical issues are identified. A legal nurse consultant can be utilized when a legal case needs to involve medical records.
Attorneys in these areas of law can collaborate with legal nurses: medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, nursing home abuse, elder law, product liability, worker’s compensation, estate planning, wills & trusts, toxic tort, family law, and employment law involving healthcare professionals, or any legal case that involves illness, injury, or loss of life. It’s important to note that legal nurse consultants can be used by either the plaintiff or defense counsel.
Here are some additional services that legal nurse consultants can offer: expert witness identification and location, medical literature search for foundational case support, independent medical examination observation and report submission, and life care planning, to name a few. Contact us today at Cerbry Consulting, LLC, (602) 290-6554, to find out how we can help improve your case throughput and potentially increase your client compensation.”
